Book Synopsis: El Festival Internacional de Fotografía y Artes Visuales PHotoESPAÑA 2022 tiene lugar este año entre el 1 de junio y el 28 de agosto. Esta edición celebra su XXV aniversario en 31 sedes nacionales y 12 internacionales, con 120 exposiciones de 442 fotógrafos y artistas visuales. Alcalá de Henares, Cuenca, Santander, Valladolid y Zaragoza, entre otras ciudades, participan en el festival y este año se incorpora además Patrimonio Nacional. Vicent Todolí y Sandra Guimarães son los comisarios invitados de esta edición y bajo el título Sculpting Reality ofrecen una panorámica sobre la fotografía de estilo documental. El programa expositivo cuenta además con artistas como Walker Evans, Manuel Álvarez Bravo, Garry Winogrand, Lee Friedlander, Helen Levitt, Louis Faurer, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Frank, Joel Meyerowitz, Tod Papageorge, Ricardo Rangel, Anthony Hernandez, Mike Mandel, Harry Callahan, Susan Meiselas, David Goldblatt, Jürgen Schadeberg, Edward Ruscha, Bernd & Hilla Becher, Lewis Baltz, Humberto Rivas, Luigi Ghirri, Ian Wallace, Xavier Ribas, Bleda y Rosa, Yto Barrada o Paul Graham, entre otros muchos. El Festival despliega asimismo un abanico de miradas femeninas en la fotografía, que llega de la mano de autoras como Tina Modotti, Kati Horna, Margaret Michaelis y Germaine Krull. La fotografía española está representada por autores clásicos como Francesc Català-Roca y Carlos Pérez Siquier, y contemporáneos como Alberto García-Alix, Aleix Plademunt, Estela de Castro, Marta Soul o Juan Baraja, entre otros. En el Palacio Real de Madrid, algunos de los mejores ejemplos de fotografía de paisaje de las Colecciones Reales de autores como William Atkinson, Jean Laurent, Charles Clifford o Wodbury & Page establecen un diálogo con imágenes del fotógrafo brasileño Sebastião Salgado. Por su parte, el Festival OFF cuenta con la participación de 29 galerías de Madrid, que se suman a PHotoESPAÑA con otra serie de interesantes propuestas fotográficas.
